The Studio is owned and operated by Jean Brosseau, a seasoned producer and engineer with a rich history in the Montreal music scene since 1997. Known for his hands-on approach, Jean not only produces and arranges for artists but he can also play the instruments needed for their recordings. As a singer and songwriter himself, he set out to build a personal, well-equipped, and comfortable professional studio—creating a space he envisioned as a “sound kitchen” rather than a sterile laboratory. Once completed, Jean quickly realized that this exceptional space and tools were too valuable to be reserved for himself alone. Dubbed "Hermitage"—a nod to his own hermit-like tendencies—it became clear that others in the music community could also benefit from access to such a high-quality environment. Today, the studio operates as a private, commercial facility, available to a carefully selected clientele to foster creativity and production excellence.
